Mission of NACTF

TO PROVIDE AN APPRENTICESHIP AND TRAINING PROGRAM, WHICH SHALL BE REGISTERED WITH AND APPROVED BY THE ALABAMA OFFICE OF APPRENTICESHIP, WITH THE PURPOSE TO ENSURE THE EXISTENCE OF A QUALITY LOCAL WORKFORCE IN VARIOUS CRAFTS RELATED TO THE BUILDING INDUSTRY.

THIS FOUR-YEAR ALABAMA OFFICE OF APPRENTICESHIP REGISTERED PROGRAM INCLUDES 144 CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION HOURS AND 2,000 ON-THE-JOB TRAINING HOURS PER YEAR. CLASSES ARE HELD ONE NIGHT EACH WEEK USING THE NCCER CURRICULUM. FOR A COMPLETE LISTING OF MODULES TAUGHT AT EACH LEVEL OF EACH TRADE VISIT CRAFTS/TITLES AT NCCER.ORG.

Accreditation

NACTF is accredited through the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER). Our apprentices' training can be transferred to any area in which there is an NCCER-accredited program. NACTF is certified through the Alabama Office of Apprenticeship (AOA). 
**NACTF is not an NCCER testing/assessment site. 

REGISTRATION & SCHEDULING:

  • REGISTRATION FOR THE CRAFT TRAINING PROGRAM BEGINS IN MAY THROUGH MID-JULY OF EACH YEAR. THERE IS AN APPLICATION PACKET THAT HAS TO BE COMPLETED FOR NEW APPRENTICES.

  • CLASSES BEGIN IN AUGUST OF EACH YEAR AND END IN MID-MAY OF THE FOLLOWING YEAR.

  • TRAINEES WILL BE INFORMED IN JULY OF THE MEETING PLACE AND TIMES FOR THEIR RESPECTIVE CLASS.

  • CLASSES MEET IN HUNTSVILLE, MADISON, AND DECATUR, ALABAMA.

  • NACTF IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION AND MAKES EVERY EFFORT TO KEEP TUITION RATES REASONABLE.
